In the highly competitive commercial aviation sector, passenger experience and digital innovation are becoming key differentiators. To explore the future of in-seat display systems, Safran partnered with Neutral Digital to create an immersive concept demonstrator designed to instigate conversation, showcase emerging ideas, and gather real-time industry feedback.

Develop an interactive, future-facing concept tool to showcase Safran’s vision for next-generation luxury air travel, encouraging meaningful discussion with airline customers before fully engineered products existed.

The future of in-flight made tangible

Safran’s ambition was clear, to position itself as a forward-thinking innovator focused on the passenger experience, not just engineering excellence. The challenge was doing so without relying on production-ready hardware.


Rather than a conventional product launch, the brief called for an experience-first approach – one that could open meaningful conversations with airline customers and industry stakeholders around what premium in-flight entertainment could become.

A scenario-led experience, built around immersion

At the heart of the installation was a large-scale wraparound display, driven by a presenter controlled tablet interface. Guided by a host, visitors were introduced to the suite’s core features before being taken through a series of distinct in-flight scenarios – each designed to simulate a different moment of a long-haul journey.


From ambient sleep modes and dining experiences to productivity environments and personalised entertainment, eight to nine scenarios demonstrated how visual content, lighting, interface design, and spatial audio could work in concert to transform the passenger experience. Every element of the visual language and interaction design was developed by Neutral ensuring each scenario felt distinct, whilst remaining part of a cohesive and emotionally resonant journey.

Seamless across every environment

The platform was designed with flexibility at its core. Rather than a fixed installation, the demonstrator was built as a modular, reusable system – allowing Safran to tailor presentations for different audiences, adapt scenarios over time, and continue evolving the experience as new concepts emerged.


This adaptability ensured the demonstrator remained valuable well beyond a single event, supporting ongoing showcases at trade exhibitions and on-site demonstrations around the world.

The final experience gave Safran a strong storytelling tool – one that positioned the brand as experience-led and digitally innovative at a moment when both qualities matter most.


By combining cinematic content, bespoke audio design, and scenario-based interaction, the demonstrator created an environment where stakeholders could engage with future ideas directly, providing Safran with genuine insight into how passenger expectations are evolving.
